Struan,
I really enjoy the muted colors in this landscape. Give the photo a certain age, experience that is thought provoking. There are lost souls in that landscape that make for a certain longing. Very well done,
Monty
Monty, thanks for the thoughtful reflections. The attraction to me lies largely in the mezzotint-like tones and image structure. It's ironic: I moved to LF looking for purity of tone, but the combination of 'bad' light and a cheap scanner has thrown up some thought-provoking results.
trees? luv it
A couple from a family vacation.
This one has been the second thought of all time for me. Thinking it too thin, this T-55 negative sat unsleeved on my light table for a long time, was shuffled around and almost thrown away. I finally scanned, sleeved it and liked what I saw enough to put it on my website.
It has become one of the most lucrative single photographs I've ever made and used by Bananna Republic, Gap and IKEA among others. The gift that keeps on giving.
Wonderful work Bill and Struan, very nice.
One I've been toying with for a very very long time and can never get right. Dawn shots are troublesome- the sweet spot between too dark and too light is hard to get just so, and this neg is very thin to begin with. Anyway, from Aveiro, Portugal
