I am new in this forum.
Thanks Jan, I am receiving my new 120SW tomorrow from B&H.
And will proceed to order the Fotoman 810PS.
Very excited about it after seeing the pix posted here.

I also just broke down this morning and purchased one from B&H. It is a deal at $800, new. Now that they aren't making them anymore, get 'em while you can! I will be using mine for 5x7 architectural work, but since I am working with an 8x10 with reduction backs, big negatives will be exposed with my new lens.

It's still not as a good deal as the nikkor 120mm AM ED macro lens which BH sold for $299 last year. The original price of this macro lens was $1080, that's 72% discount. The nikkor 120mm SW discount is 28% from the original price. I can always hope that the discount gets bigger overtime if no one is buying it

it will cover 8x10, ut if you want movement, you need to find the SW 150.

As I discovered, this lens is only a bargain if you use it. Found that 120mm was too close to the subject for me for macro, and sold it after it sat on the shelf unused for a year. It was a good investment, however.:-)

If you shoot 4x5, the Nikon 120mm SW is is the perfect lens. 120mm is as wide as you can get without it looking wide, you never run out of movements, and the lens design reduces fall off such that it is not very noticable in 4x5. If it were just a little smaller. (Or if the 110mm SS was 120mm.)

No movements, but a ton of wide wide. This one is an all time keeper aside from the 110XL. 120 covers better than the 110, but the 110 is a shorter focal length, more compact, and frankly, a gorgeous piece of artillery. For the money, at $800 or if you find one for $600 used, the 120/8 is a steal since the 110XL usually fetches 1K-1.2K (used).
