Julie, I use Flickr myself, so I can include bigger shots directly into the post. Else you can upload your shots to this forum - it will tell you what the maximum size is (but I have seen pictures as big as some 512x620px).

    but it looks beautiful!

For the record: I have never used a hosemaster - far too expensive for me...
I always use a 25watt lightbulb, or for the small objects, a little flashlight. That's all.

I do painting with light in maybe 85% of all my images, so I know how to work in simple ways.
Yes ... very good of you to use a flash light. Hose master is over rated! I just wanted to say after reviewing this thread that I am inspired and exited to be amongst people who love to lay there hands or real equipment and take the extra time to think about what they are shooting and what they are creating.

In a world that I believe is growing more non-committal as we speak, it is so fantastic
to see works that were created with more intent and purpose. And I absolutely love many of the images and so enjoy seeing the different techniques being used. Glad to be around you here. PS, I forgot to comment on Csant's fuzzy rich Pasque flowers-Very nice shot of these!. I have tried to grow these a number of times in my garden but they only last one season and act like anuals here. They are so furry and fantastic. Only good shots of them I have are when they went to seed.

Thanks, Julie, glad you like them. Admittedly, it's not me taking care of them, but the botanical garden's staff

(I posted this in the Petzval thread, too...)

Here is one of my contributions to the http://www.wetplateday.org/ project. I made this as a memorial to a high school friend and world class trombonist Steve Witser who died unexpectedly a week ago at the way-too-young age of 48.

May have posted this before, but hey, I'm too old to remember that sort of thing. Technika Master 4x5, Velvia 50, Nikkor AM 110/5.6, some exposure or another (obviously not quite optimal for "best" appearance but I like the near miss better, though can't make up my mind over original color vs B&W PS conversion).

Oh Kerik, What a beautiful tribute for your friend. I particularly like the spark or star in upper right corner. Image seems to say that all beautiful things live on. I'm sure this image means allot to his family.
