Thanks for the comments! It was just a b&w developer test that I decided to waste 2 sheets of Portra on! Shows me, again, there is more around my backyard than I ever 'see'.

Thank you . What I meant was I wasn't really thinking it'd turn out too well. Just kind of set it up and decided to see how it'd look in color. Good thing because the b&w fails imo. No separation of the elements.

Zaitz, I wish I could fathom what make the flowers so emotionaly appealing. The same for your dark leaves on the other thread. It's quite a humbling experience.

I don't usually care much for Aero Ektar images but I do like this one... a lot. I really like the creamy subtle color contrasts.

I really appreciate that, thank you! Even though I've never been particularly enamored with flowers I've always sought them out as subjects just because they seem easily appealing and hard to make appalling!

Thanks. I am drawn to the upper left flower even though it is completely out of focus. That bit of sharpness seems to give the photo the grounded base it needs but I find the out of focus portions almost the subject over the sharp flower. The way the creamy pastel tones shift from one to another is what I like about it. Will have to try and take that further this weekend, hopefully successfully.
