Huh....I had just read that article and watched the video without realizing who took the shot or with what. Thanks for calling attention to it, David. (For an 89yo, he's pretty sharp. It's too bad his life was squandered, he's terminally ill, and he's a murderer. )
I was just having a conversation yesterday, Saturday, about how film, particularly large format, can render an image for more 'human' than present day digital.
Don't get me wrong, there are many soulless LF pictures, and many powerful images that are recorded digitally.
But there is something about analog on LF that enables a gifted photographer to capture the 'heart' of a situation better due to the nature of LF film and lens selection. Present day lenses, all designed on a CAD program, though technically perfect, lack the quirks that a humanly designed lens has. All these thoughts are in my humble opinion.
