Dont buy ilford then. There are other brand which are better anyway.

It seems ilford is pricing themselves out of the market.

Arista we up also? Geez... That sucks!

For paper I have been using Kentmere and Slavich ( graded ).

    No, I think

    a) Ilford is pricing themselves to current market realities and

    b) the US Dollar is rapidly going down the tubes as other currencies strengthen so prices of foreign goods particularly anything in UK Pounds or Euros are going to keep going up and up (and probably anything from Central Europe as well)

(not sure of the figures for the Pound, but the Canadian dollar has gone from around 85c to the US dollar to over 97c to the US dollar in the last year and will most likely be on par pretty soon - that's a pretty massive change and even more so since 2003 when the Cdn$ was only 70c US)

No, Ilford is pricing themselves out of the market.
Seems like you have a bit a problem you need to address. Being civil among other things

I'd add that apart from the continuing woes of the greenback which only make this seem worse, it has been predicted for three or four years at least that all film and associated products (printing paper etc) are going to continue to rise fairly significantly.

That isn't my opinion, it's the opinion of the experts in the field and this market.

Hi, you can save money on the Ilford FB by buying the 250 sheet boxes of 8x10 ($0.61/sheet) or 11x14 ($1.20/sheet) from Calumet.

I too just had sticker shock but that is the way things are going.

The dollar is weak, oil is sky high.

But, at least we can still buy it.

You better get used to it. Traditional materials will go up in price due to dwindling manufacturer sites more that to economic reasons or silver price. But hey, look at the silver lining, if your price per sheet goes up maybe this will force you to be more careful composing and creating the picture thus improving your photography...
