Hopefully, I'll get this right and the picture will show up. It's of one of my cats.

What are you scanning with? If it's an Epson, try leaving a bit of space at the top, between the film-holder and the edge of the glass, remaining flush along the right side as normal. That should rid the scans of those lines.
Good on ya. 4X5? 8X10? 16" Varium? Kitty is stuffed? I have a 19" Varium I've never used. My bad.
The Varium is really a very nice lens. I have a 16" f3.5 which I use on both 11x14 and 8x10. It is a monster, but I really like its semi-soft look stopped down to f6.8 or so.
Nelson, I am scanning with an Epson 2450. The neg is 8x10, so it's just on the glass, there is no 8x10 holder.
Jim, this is the 8x10 Century No.7 Studio camera. 19 in. f/4 Varium. Kitty is NOT stuffed.
Jason, yes it is a monster. Fortunately, my local camera repairman was able to un-cross thread the front element of this Varium.
Photo of Century No. 7 with Voigtlander No. 7 mounted on it taken with my Century whole plate. The Voigtlander was part of a group of lenses I acquired earlier this year. I haven't tried it yet however.
Beautiful camera and lens Diane. I just love using this stuff. I've got 2 Euryscop IV #6's but no #7. I'm glad you jumped on the lot of goodies! Tell Kitty I'm sorry. None of mine will ever sit still long enough to be photographed.
The only trouble with doin' nothing is you can't tell when you get caught up
Appears to be nice little kitty; why the really big camera? You could I guess get into the turn of the century period pet portraiture.....it is becoming all the rage!
SO Diane, have you gotten a gym membership yet? I imagine you will need it to get in shape an lug that thing around!!!!
