    Microtek 2500 scanner question

    Hi,
I have a question to the Microtek 2500 scanner users.
I have a chance to buy this scanner for very attractive price However there are no film holders provided with the scanner.
Is this possible to by these holders or obtain after market holder for 4x5 film?
Or maybe I can just cut piece of anti-newton glass that I can insert in the transparency unit and then tape film to the glass?

    Thanks,
    Evgeny

    Re: Microtek 2500 scanner question

Contact Microtek to find film holders.

SK Grimes can make you holders, if you can get the correct dimensions. I saw, on their site, that they made some improvements to existing Microtek holders (although it may not have been for a 2500).

Keep in mind that the holders allow for scanning below the glass. They will need to be positioned at the correct height, and the high-resolution area is only along one side of the machine.

I think Doug Fisher at better scanning.com is also making an after market holder. This may only be for medium format.
