    Cheap E6 mail-order lab for 5x7

    Seth,

Since no one else is answering, I will try. I am a current FlatIron customer, an d am reasonably satisfied with the lab. However, I have noticed (and I think this may be the cause of the orignal post) that the sheet film I send to you for E-6 developing is often bent in weird and often unexplicable ways--sometimes it is nice and flat, but more oiften then not the film is warped. Once I had a transparency come back bent. For the time being, I will continue to use FlatIron, since as you well know, your lab is the cheapest in NYC. However, if I can find another lab of similar price, but without the danger of ruining film, I will probably switch.

    best regards,

Not sure that it's the cheapest, but I've always had professional, clean, consistent results with Modernage in New York. They handle E-6 up to 11x14" as standard services and probably can do larger as a custom service. Quick turnaround, too. Locations at www.modernage.com.

They are out of Rochester, New York and do not charge for shipping for orders over $30 and only $5 for anything less. Most of the places I contacted charge up to $10+ for shipping. You can also set up an account with them. They charge $3.00 per 5x7 sheet. Their Web site is "www.4photolab.com." They can also send you a catalog of services. Their phone number is (716) 442-4820.
We have changed area codes! We are now (585) 442-4820!

I didn't notice The Icon lab mentioned. Their website says they process 5x7 E-6, but it isn't listed on their price list.

Perhaps, because this is a 7 year old thread - most of the posts are from early 2000.

Perhaps it would be good to have a list of labs which handle odd film sizes.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Photocraft out of Boulder, CO. They are one of the premiere labs in the country doing work for Dykinga, Clay, Till, and many more. Their 4x5 price is $1.40. I just got some 5x7 film back but don't have the price in front of me, but it was reasonable. Their phone number is 1-800-441-3873, ask for John Botkin. I have been using them for several years now and I'm completely satisfied. Jim

I'll second the suggestion for Photocraft. They do my E6 and B&W work for me and have always been first rate. Great prices and great service. Good people to deal with.

Wow, 7 year old thread. In internet terms that's like, ancient.

    E-6 color labs in Atlanta, http://www.e-sixlab.com/index.htm .

5x7 sheets for $3.50 each. They do excellent work.
