OT: Winogrand at Work - the movie

Off topic, but damn he was good - kinda makes you want to throw away those big clunky fracking cameras....

I would have liked to see the coverage of Emit Gowan. Aparently he was also interviewed for the video, but I can't find any of his photographs on the web.

I never saw Winogrand do his photography before. Definitely not a style that lends itself to LF, not without ReadyLoad/QuickLoads or Grafmatic backs. Might do it with MF and 645 and 220 film (Just noticed that only Tri-X is the only B&W film in that size. Hmmm...). He just wandered along, and photographed what caught his eye.

You might have more luck looking for Emmet Gowin's photos.

Thanks! The only reference I found had spelled it like I had, and it was for a workshop that he visited.

    Tim,

As always thanks. I seem to remember this series on photography but cannot remember the name of it. I would like to see the entire series if it were available. It was from 1982 but it was some years later that I saw a few episodes. I recall seeing this one.

    Thanks again

I'm taking a photo history tele-course right now that has clips of Gary Winogrand among other people. I haven't seen the clip on the web on the video yet, but I'm only on session 11 out of 20. The series is called "The Photographic Vision" and I think has a copyright of 1984 or such. It has some short spots with Ansel Adams and Galen Rowell in it. I just with the tapes I rented were in better condition (the color is really bad)
