    Upgrading Silverfast...

    hey guys,

i've got silverfast version 5 dot something or another. it's current enough that i can calibrate with IT8 targets. if i do 90% of my adjustments in photoshop, is there any reason to upgrade to the latest version? since i don't use most of the tools the software offers presently, would upgrading really buy me anything? i guess i'm asking if the new software will make better scans or just more tools for me to largely ignore like most of the tools on the version i'm running.

oh, the multi-pass capability is not an option for my scanner, so that' not a consideration.

    thanks,

    Hey Scott,

Probably no reason to upgrade unless you use color negative film. The newest versions of Silverfast are improved in that regard.
