    Adrian Tyler in good company

Just got back from an exhibit at my favourite gallery, I didn't know Adrian had a print in it, but there i saw along one wall, left to right, Adrian Tyler, Walker Evans (polaroid), Steiglitz (contact print), Eggleston (yummy colour), and Crewdson. Not bad Adrian!

BTW the print was luscious, is that one of the scans Richard did for you?

So, which photograph of Adrian's was in the show?
I like many of his pictures.

thanks julian! i couldn't believe the "line up" for the show!

yep, richard kenwood made the scan, interestingly none of the "labs" here in madrid were capable of printing it properly (they all have "closed circle" profiling or no profiling) so i ended up making the prints with a repro house i work with producing artists books.

    all the best form madrid...

    it's this picture:

who did you use for the printing? I certainly think that print was on a par with Chris's - who has been my benchmark for high quality inket printing so far. I'm looking around now to find someone to scan/print a porfolio. If I can afford it, I'm going to send Richard the negs and a 'guide' print and get him to do the lot, but I can't find anyone with an up to date inkjet (read epson x800). Although I've the number of someone from Hewlett packard in San Cugat who I may try and twist their arm for a sample or two...

i made the prints with "lucam", took a long time and a lot of tests but even the toilet paper there is profiled so once one was right the rest were a piece of cake.

but "cromotex" do a great job too, and they drumscan, drop me a line if you want more info, or dive down to madrid, i'll take you round and introduce you.

incidently they are both repro houses specialising in reproducing fine art, not labs.

For those interested in high quality drum scans here is Richards website www.precision-drum-scanning.co.uk .
I came across him years ago when profiling was still a black art and he had it sorted. he is also highly proficient at scanning colour neg - he did Jim Cooke's stuff and the results were amazing
