804RC2 Head for Lightweight 4x5 work?

Has anyone used bogen's 804RC2 head for a lightweight 4x5? The camera I would be using it with is a Shen hao. The weight limit is over the weight of the camera, but not by much. It's just so darn lightweight and inexpensive. What do you guys with more experience in the matter think?

It says that max. load is 8.8 lbs. A Shen is approx. 4.5 and figure another 1.5-2 for the lens and lensboard, for the total of 6-6.5 lbs loads.

It might work, but it'd be rather too close for my taste. I don't trust manufacturers' data too much, they tend to be overly optimistic.

If I were you, I'd rather go with something with a declared maximum load at least twice the size of the expected maximum load. But then again, that will surely increase your load...

Well, my other choice is the 410 geared head. I have heard good things about the 410 and was just wondering if this was another option to consider.

I would worry that the plate is insufficient. I would recommend the 410 geared head or the Bogen / Manfrotto 808RC4 3-Way Pan/Tilt Head with RC-4 Quick Release as the smallest head I would feel comfortable with.
    Thanks,

I just bought the 808rc4 and it is really nice for my Toyo 45A, it should be more than sufficient for your Shen Hao. I use it for my Toyo and my Pentax 6x7(the beast).
