imacon problems

Hey,

FlexColor won't recognize the scanner.

It goes into the digital back capture mode.

I checked connections. Restarted scanner, program, machine, repaired permissions, reset pram, did it all again. NO GO....

BTW its a MacPro dunno if this makes a difference.

Thoughts?

I had the exactsame problem when i got my used imacon. Are you using a scsi connection with an adapter? It took me much fussing around with my imac until i bought a used mac g3 and went directly into the scsi port.

If you are attempting to use a SCSI to USB or SCSI to Firewire adaptor it may or may not work ..... there is absolutely no guarantee as to the reliability of such devices and I generally don't recommend them for use with scanners.

Firewire from scanner into tower. (not even through monitor firewire port)

Did you restart the MacPro after you had the scanner restarted?

I had the same problem; both with SCSI and firewire adapter.
I solved it by downloading an older version of the software. Color Flex 1.9 isn't the latest or greatest; but it solves the problem.

Hey,

I got it to work. I dunno how. Random restarts and the like. I think macs have a tendency to fix their own problems. Perhaps they've got built in psychotherapists.
