JML 6.5" f8 process camera lens for enlarger?

When I threw away my father-in-law's old Nuarc process camera a few years ago (I couldn't give it away) I couldn't bear to ditch the lens. Now, since I will be back in the darkroom after a 3-year digital-induced break I am wondering if I could wisely use this lens on my DII for printing 4x5 negatives. (I gave my D2V to my son along with the lenses but picked up an old DII that was converted to a D2V.)

I have no idea how I would mount it. It's currently on a 1/4" thick steel board about 3" square.

Mostly, I am just wondering if it's worth the effort since I don't currently have a 135 or 150mm lens. This would be about a 165mm (flat field) lens.

Any thoughts or experience with this?

If it's not too much effort to mount then sure. OTOH I bought a 135mm SCHNEIDER COMPONON-S for less then $40. If it was me I'd be tempted to put the JML on ebay and see if somebody wants a wide angle 5x7 lens. Considering how much the 210mm version of the JML covers somebody might be interested.

I guess if I could get a 135mm SCHNEIDER COMPONON-S for less then $40 I'd do exactly as you recommend. Actually, that would make a pretty slick trade - the 165mm JML for the Schneider.

    Thanks Nick.

Give the JML a shot as a taking lens, you may be very happy.

I might, Brook, but I have 150mm & 210mm taking lenses but no enlarging lens for 4x5. -Bill
