I was watching that one... A note to wet plate photographers who think it might be a magic bullet; for the near-UV and visible blue that wet plate works in, it doesn't make any difference.

Indeed Mark, many (older and esp. uncoated) lenses reach down to about 350-360nm if made of optical glass, surely enough for wet plate work. However, let me remind you that there is quite some focus shift to be considered when using normal lenses as those are usually corrected for green light, so either one stops down quite a bit, or focuses using a deep blue filter (not easy) - or uses a color corrected lens (expensive).

Zeiss made a 105mm UV Sonnar for the hasselblad system. Other quartz optics for photography is often quite special and not common.

There are a number of microscope optics specifically designed for wavelengths like this (UV and more)

Yes, but not just quartz, it is made of quartz and fluoride lens elements and it is fully UV-VIS color corrected.
I have it also on my collection site macrolenses.de

I have used those types of lenses and show the results on my site http://uvir.eu
