I would like to know how many use pre exposure for transparency film? Have you found it useful for the high contrast subjects?

Darcy

I do every so often, usually on zone 2.
I haven't done a side by side to compare, unfortunately, but there have been a couple shots in which I've been convinced it helped.
I haven't gotten any 'graying' or fogging from the extra exposure. I'm interested to try it on zone 3, but I'm a bit worried about giving it that much uniform light.
With a highly saturated film like Velvia I'm considering trying a pre-exposure using an 81A or 81B, with the idea being to counter some of the blue in the shadows. I think shadows can look just too blue with Velvia sometimes, and lightening them with pre-exposure will make this yet more likely.
