    Scanner 4 X 5

    I am needing a scanner LF (4" X 5"), MF (6 X 7) and 35mm. Can anybody indicate myself a good one and cheaply?

    Thank you,

    Enio

    Enio,

If you can find a used or refurbished Epson 3200... it's quite usable and is a nice little scanner.

The newer models in the Epson line are the 4990, V700, and V750.

    Cheers

My old Epson 2450 is good for 35mm snapshots up to 8x10, and great for 4x5.

Check the clearance section of the Epson website -- they are selling refurbished 4990s for $309.99.

Thank you Capocheny, Jim Jones and Mike Myer.

    I was thinking about Epson V700, V750 or in Microtek i800, i900.

Would you know how to tell me which of them is the best?

    Cheers

After much Google searching and reading reviews I decided the v700/v750 was not worth it to me, given the deal on the refurbished 4990. I replaced a 2400 that I also purchased as refurbished from Epson.

Here is one site that reviewed multiple scanners:

There are other reviews out there if you search.

Mike, I think you made the right choice with the 4990 refurb from Epson. BTW, you will find lots of information on all the scanners you mentioned in the articles on scanners and scanning that Michale Mutmansky and I have done for View Camera over the past 18 months and you will also find most of them covered (with more added all the time) in the Scanner Comparison on this Forum's home page.

    Thank you Mike.

    I found interesting these reviews.

I saw that Epson 4990 is great.

I would like to see some test with the Microtek i800/i900, because, I should go to New York next year and I want to see if I buy a good scanner.

    Thank you for the help,

    Enio
