The last time I did any film testing, the computer revolution was in it's infanc y. There's got to be some software, by now, that will plot a simple black and wh ite response curve. Any help will be appreciated.

Darkroom Innovations sells Phil Davis' Plotter/Matcher software for the Palm pal mtops; there was a version for PC and Mac a while back that's been discontinued but Fred Newman may have some of the disks still around.
Other than that, I haven't found anything. Of course there's all sorts of gene ric plotter software but it's easier and faster to just hand plot.
I plot curves in Excel.
Most spreadsheets, not just excel, have a graph or chart plotting facility as part of them. But you've still got to type the data into the sheet by hand, and by the time you've done this, quite honestly sometimes it's a darn sight quicker to simply jot the points on a sheet of graph paper. Especially if you don't need to do any fancy functions on the data.
Of course, if you've got a densitometer or colorimeter with a computer interface, it's a different story.
A little bit off the topic, but may be of interest. I have to go along with plotting on paper vs typing into a spreadsheet and then trying to figure out how to get the graph to print. There arent that many points needed, and it isnt an exotic function.
Here is a link to a nice bit of freeware that will create all kinds of graph papers, including logarithmic graph spacing, cartesian, polar, and some I have never heard of. It also does music manuscript paper, fancy backgrounds and other neat stuff.
