    Minor problem with film shifting

When I load my film in my holders (Fidelity Elite and Riteway), the film is pushed all the way in, but after being carried around, it shifts back towards the other end. This results in a large margin on the end with the notches and a very thin margin on the other end. I've cut out a frame for scanning which allows me to make maximum use of the film area, but it is hard to position it on the side with the thin margin. For landscape orientation, I can resolve the problem by holding the holder with darkslide handles down and rapping the holder before inserting. But I don't see any simple way to deal with the problem with my Toho FC-45X when in portrait orientation. The film is bound to slip down when loading from above, which is the only way the Toho allows me to do it. It wouldn't be a disaster if I never solved this problem, but if anyone has any bright ideas, let me know.

Try to carry it around in the landscape position.

I double-thwack it - once on the side, and once on the end.
