FYI - Betty, Bunny and Graphics

Saw The Notorious Betty Paige at the local art theater last night. Superb little bio of Betty Paige in her "pop" peak. First you think the movie (which exquisitely switches back and forth from B&W to color to 35mm to 16mm to 8mm) is too sweet and too uncomplicated, but realize when driving home that's exactly what this beautiful, smart girl was, despite some awful abuse growing up.

Vintage equipment freaks will love this flick. Dozens of scenes center around (besides the amazing Gretchen Mol) big, shiny Graphics running full-tilt, Bunny Y cranking her Rolleis, countless heavy-breathing camera club nerds recording prurient-but-innocent history with old-time equipment.

    See it, you'll love it.

It's funny because there is a little burlesque revivial going on at the art schools and stuff - hot rods and all that. What great marketing...

Gretchen Mol does outshine the original too.
