Tin Can
Sorry, I haven't tried etching, but the consensus in this thread among those who have tried it seems to be that grinding works better than etching:

KODAK 8X10 Metal camera aka "KMV" is a very very good camera
I like the movements and it can center the Load
It has the most interesting GG I have ever used
I don't have an image of it, as I exchanged in trade and then a couple more trades
No Profit, but FUN!
I am looking for a picture of the Unique GG
I bought $8 of USA made ACID and their special mask from Amazon
Notice I posted in DIY!
Nobody reads it
Tin Can
Holy Grail, I get it.
Gee you must be serious about dropping some acid!
Be safe and let us know how it goes!
Hello everyone
Interesting topic! I have this Kodak magnesium camera and the focusing screen could also be etched.
There are round dots printed as a grid on the etched/matte side.
As the screen was dirty, I tried to clean it, but some of the dots came off....
What to do next?
Option 1: Remove the dots completely
- of course the originality is lost
- traces of the originally printed dots may still remain on the matted or etched surface
Option 2: Clean the glass and reprint the dots
The question is: which technique should be used to apply the dots?
- Stenciling?
Have any of you tried something similar?
