    salt print toning

good day folks. A local studio asked me to do a demo in salt printing. im planning on 10 (4x5) prints. Ive done the process 4 years ago but I wasnt really toning that time. I did notice that some of my prints have faded or discolored.

does anyone have a recipe for gold toner. I only have available gold chloride at 1% and borax. I will not be able to source any other ingredients for the recipes ive seen on the internet. I live in south east asia and its so hard to get anything here.

Im more concerned about permanence than the actual tone. for 4x5 prints how do i know if i exhausted the toner. any info is greatly appreciated.

None of the prints shown in the Salt Print Gallery on my website have shown any fading or discoloration since they were printed 10 or more years ago. In fact the second print in the gallery sits mounted on, of all places, the kitchen wall and is just as pristine as the day it was printed in 2012. When I did tone, I used the toner formulas given in the Christopher book.
