Speed Graphic, making cable for speed lights. NorelcoPhilips to PCsync?

Hi guys n gals, I want to be able to use my flashes for studio and field portrait work…on my Pacemaker. Is it the classic Norelco/Philips AC power cord that has the correct end to fit the lens 2pole male connector? Beyond that I think I have it sorted…hot shoe adapter that sits on my cold shoe, cabled to lens or focal plane poles. Flash controller on the hot shoe/cold shoe triggers my units.
I just have to use T with the focal plane shutter, set sync mode to X when connecting to lens poles.

I’ll just cut/solder/heat shrink the shaver cord end onto the PC sync cord.

Anyone with experience they’d like to share?

I have used very thin stranded wire wrapped carefully

    Low temp solder quickly

    Hi,
Yes, I have used a Norelco razor cord to splice together a sync cord for use with a two-pin vintage shutter sync.Click image for larger version.

Unlike some other folks on the internet, I've had neary 0% success using old razor cords. I even took a shutter to an electric razor repair shop (amazingly, one still exists in my area) and could not find one to work. Generally they are way too tight for comfort. But since this hack has been touted since the 1950's, at least, I must not have the right attitude.

I now regret not buying more from Paramount before their demise and treat those that I have with extreme reverence. Both bipost and solenoid cords are getting really difficult to find in good condition. Usually the insulation is hardened.

I have no suggestions other than keep a keen eye out for the cord you need and buy without hesitation when you find one.

Please let us know of yur success. I'd LOVE to be proven wrong.

Like you, I'm always in need of sync cords with a bipost terminal.

I have a Paramount cord.. If I didn't, I'd probably use insulated small insulated alligator clips or the mini-hook test leads on the posts for something temporary.
