The RSW45 is only "limited" in that it is designed for use with short, "WIDE" lenses.

If you want more than "short" lenses, you really should get something designed for "more".

I used the Rodenstock Sironar S 180mm on my 45SW. It was a great lens with tons of coverage.

I still have my Linhof Master Tech but for this next trip I wanted to keep the weight down - I would like to have a longer lens in the bag for landscapes: as sometimes it is nice to compress the scene rather than use wides.
And thought a 180mm would be my best option - best John

A 180mm lens has approximately the same field of view horizontally as a 50 - 55 mm lens on a 35mm camera. Vertically much more.

Or a 55-135 mm when considering the option of cropping?

Cropping is always a good idea -- at least in my book. But for some, it's a dirty word.

    Hi John
Perhaps not exactly what you asked for, but a possible compromise option which would give you a bit more length than a 180 and probably not as much weight/bulk as your existing 210, is a Nikkor-M 200 f8.
I have that lens on a 30mm top hat which works well with the RSW45. It's a great lens and small - about 180grams without lensboard/tophat. Photo attached.
With the 30mm tophat, I can focus the lens between 2m and infinity. Good coverage on 4x5 too.
