What's your favorite internet falsehood on photography?

I heard he also did reverse semi minimal stand agitation. That was the secret sauce (apparently - I might be wrong).

My favorite falsehood (internet or not) is that we are looking at an image that is upside down and backwards on the ground glass of our view cameras. But that just might be more of a well-fed pet peeve.

PS ...I think it is rather silly to expect significant discussion with a thread of this title. No promise of new insights for many of us long-time forum users, but maybe some for a few new to LF. Some humor perhaps, if we are lucky..

No problem, Vaughn. One needs to choose the correct model, whether for the northern hemisphere or the southern. And if you plan on photographing at the equator, you need a reversible back capable of horizontal viewing. Of course, a rotating back allows you to see an upright image everywhere. I don't remember if I already said it on this particular forum or not. But one afternoon last Spring, a teenage girl and her mom spotted me shooting my 8x10
beside the trail, so the girl asked if she could look under the darkcloth to see what I was shooting. She peeked, said "Cool", and then asked, "Is it always like that - upside down, even on the wall?" He mom said, "No, you just hang the picture upside-down".

Misinformation is out there, the internet is just a tool to disseminate it to the unthinking masses. But the subjects being discussed here don't even qualify as having much mass-appeal anyway. The dozen folks who know or care already can think critically enough not to swallow that crap wholesale.
