    Super lightweight 4x5

    Just recently completed this.

Made up of parts from several 4x5's:
    Peter Gowland rail and focusing.
Front standard from old Speed Graphic
    Bellows from Crown Graphic
    Ground glass from Calumet (Cambo?)
Ground glass assembly with springs from B&J Press
Rear standard from old Arca-Swiss 4x5 to 8x10 adapter.

Camera weighs 2 lbs 2 oz without lens board.

Even lighter than my featherweight Toho FC-45X! Be interesting to see how it handles under windy conditions.

Nice! Using Gowland focusing rails is a good idea, they are pretty simple and thus easy to adapt. You can use normal aluminum hollow at the hardware store if you need extension (although you won't get the nicer knob focusing that way).

I have a 6" hollow rail with my kit when I need it. Total bellows with the 6 inch addition is 12 inches or so. Normally, I just use the Nikon 90/8 and the Rodenstock
Sironar-n 135/5.6 but also have longer lenses.

Purchased the rail assembly from Peter Gowland years ago for another project but never finished it.

I have one of the Calumet/Gowland 4x5 PocketViews. Nice to see you added some movements without adding weight (mine is 2.5 pounds with a 150mm/5.6 on it).

I saw it. Very nice outfit! And you are correct it is very light. However, rise is essential in most of my 4x5 photography of small town business district scenes. Otherwise I could use my Travelwide.

If I need rise on my Travelwide I just climb into the back of my pickup.

Great ingenuity in combining all these parts!
Man, when you can get camera weight near 2.0 lbs, that is a fantastic light weight carry!

Is that front standard from an Anniversary Speed? It looks pre-1947 as far as I can see from the pic. Please post a few more photos. I'd love to see the back as well as the max front rise.
Also, what adhesive did you use to reattach the bellows?

    Thanks!
    Michael
