My father on right was maimed marching to French front, mortars

1 year recovery in theatre

Mother was 'Rosie' living in a Tin Can camper in SOCAL

She saw enemy Subs while 'On the Beach'

I didn't know there were subs on the west coast, but U-boats were pretty common to be seen at night on the coast in New England. They'd come up at night and run their engines to charge their batteries for daytime electric stealth and runtime.
