    Wink The New Guy

Hi, new to this site but have been interested in photography all my life (yes, very old now). I think I take good photographs, but it is in the eye of the beholder. I joined because I have old photo equipment to sell from my father's collection. He is 90 years old and is not interested anymore, so I hope to find those who are interested in his collection, even if it is just to discuss. I hope to find a way to publish my photography. My first experience was a Pentax I bought in Hong Kong while in the Navy. The Cannon AE was popular at that time so the price of the Pentax was much better. I have not used it in a while but is still in the original case I bought with it. That was 40 years ago...YIKES.

If you are looking to self-publish, there are many outlets for that, some better and more expensive than others. Plus they require a lot of effort on your part for design and prepress work. If you want to do traditional publishing, it can be quite difficult to find a publisher and you will probably end up spending as much or more than self-publishing. The upside is a traditional publisher has distribution and marketing resources, usually. Most bookstores are not interested in carrying self-published books, so sales of those are pretty much up to you.

My Dad has a lot of equipment and cameras and a huge photo/image copier of some kind. I am not sure where to go to sell. Anyone have ideas?
