    Deleting old photos

    Hi,
I have ~740 photos in my "manage attachments" area, and most of them are now irrelevant and can be deleted.
For the life of me, I can't find a way to delete them.
The setup is designed to add, but not delete.
I would be nice if there was a way for me to go in and clear them out in bulk...that's a lot of storage.
    Please advise, thanks!

Try going into Forum Actions > General Settings > Attachments (this latter in the "My Settings" box on the left) and see whether that gives you a list of attachments that you can mark for deletion.

Thank you for the advisement, but it didn't work.
    Any other suggestions?
    Thanks.

    Be careful

I deleted my flicker a while back, then had regrets

I did download them all, but many were lost by flicker

When I changed my fickle artistic mood, restore was a flop, some came back, many that were not mine were pasted to my flic

Flic flail gave me at least 1000 record covers I never owned or bought

I know this as I don't buy music

I listen to it on radio....

    dugan

if you go to "settings" .. >> bottom left go to "attachments" .. you'll see all your attachments

for a while the deleted images stayed in the attachment manager, but were not in-thread, maybe that's what's happening to you?

for whatever reason there's images that are untouchables ...
it might have to do with threads that are locked or something not sure ..

    Ok...
That does work after all, I missed the little tiny boxes in the upper right hand corners.
@jnantz is correct...the "untouchable" images are in locked threads....so I'm going to have to go back a few years and unlock a lot of FS threads in order to clear out old photos of stuff I sold..yeeesh.
Thank you all for the help and advice!

    Re: Deleting old photos

If necessary we (moderators) can delete attachments through the admin panel. If you can give us a general rule like "everything before date X" it's a lot easier for us than if you have many attachments and we need to locate particular ones.

If you need help please PM us with the details.

    Thanks, Oren!
I invested a bit of time this afternoon and cleared out a lot of old, irrelevant photos from FS posts, keeping most from regular threads.
Now I can keep a handle on it moving forward.
I wonder how many other posters have had the same issue?

I would encourage you not to delete photos of rare or unusual items as these can be a useful reference to other folks.
