Recommend Glue to Reattach Film Magazine Felt Falling-Off

    Hey Guys,

I am experiencing an issue with my DaYi 6x12 film magazine - the top felt strip is becoming loose.
Can anyone recommend the appropriate glue to reattach it in place securely?
I appreciate any help you can provide.

You want something that allows the felt to be replaced at some later date. No Super Glue.

I use Pliobond, only apply it to one surface, let it dry tacky and then press the surfaces together. Rubber cement works if you use it as Pliobond - coat both surfaces, dry to a tacky state and press together.

Another option to consider is Aileen’s Tacky Glue. Easily found at big box hardware stores and craft stores and, maybe, fabric stores. It’s basically a white glue but very tack so makes both positioning and adherence easy. It’s rather inexpensive too.

Personally prefer adhesive strips of (camera back) thin foam tape. Replaced worn felt strips with it. The felt was starting to shed loose fibers

Having used pliobond in the past, they recently reformulated for low VOC and I'm not impressed, to say the least. I've transitionee to Aileen's and E6000 adhesives, so far successfully. E6000 is widely available, Home Depot, Michael's, Joann Fabrics and the like all seem to carry it in stock. One nice thing about it, it comes in white, clear, and black.

I keep around a big roll of very thin, narrow, double-sided polyester tape designed for document sleeve sealing, as per Library of Congress specifications. You can find it at bookbinding suppliers, and even B&H now carries it. It's a serious specialty product, and nothing you'll find at an art store, office supply store, or home center. Very reliable.

    Thanks, everyone, for your suggestions.
The foam tape looks interesting. I’m going to give that a try.
