Athens --- Gursky location

does anyone know where from in Athens Gursky took these pictures?

Should be easy enough to locate... It is an overlook on a high hill that probably has a road leading to the top, and should be a known local go-to spot... You can probably narrow it down on a map, or a tourist board should be able to answer where high scenic overlooks are in the city...

Start doing research, the internet is your friend...

Well, you can at least have fun exploring. I doubt that his "tripod holes" would be that difficult to find. And who knows what you might discover along the way?

It appears to be taken from the Areopagus which overlooks Athens and is downhill from the Acropolis. I have two views taken from there on my website. If you go, be very careful of your footing for the bare stone is worn smooth and slick from centuries of people walking in it and sitting there. It is a place where trials were once held and the site of Saint Paul's sermon to the Athenians.

Actually @tgtaylor, what are your views on how the images were captured by Gursky? --- putting aside the post production.
