Dead?
The answer is, none of the above.
The correct spelling for the plural form of "still life" is "still lifes" with no hyphen. When a hyphen is used, the word becomes a coordinated adjective. You want the plural noun form.
I'm simply grateful to be alive!
Thanks Gegory, I was terrible with Grammar in school, and my writings prove it. Grin.
ok, tougher question: what's the plural of Jesus?
The Son, the Father, and the Holy Spirit.
Jack, isn't that one of those nouns with no plural?

Heck if I know -- that's why I asked the question!

The only thing perhaps certain is there is no hyphen...? Unless of course one is trying to use a compund modifier before a noun such as in, "That is a nice still-life photograph." I always thought, however, it was only when using the compund modifier after the noun that convention dictated the hyphen was not needed -- as in, "That photograph is a nice still life." But what do I know...
Please keep them coming -- I still don't know for sure what the proper plural is -- or if there even is one
Cheers,
