    Everyone from actors to directors were paid a salary instead of “per film,” along with having contracts.
    It doesn't matter much when that website said the studio system ended. in the case of the 3 they were under contract with Columbia Pictures, and Shemp died Nov 1955 and they still had films to deliver and contract said there were 3 Stooges. even when they were meeting Hercules, In Orbit or In a Daze there were 3 Stooges. they spliced him in.
