    Weston Nudes and the Friends of Photography

    While unpacking my darkroom and setting it up again, I came across this:

    I admired Buckminster Fuller mightily back in his day

    I still do

    I was coerced into a required speech by him 1969

    Locally they are polishing his Dome

    The demise of the Friends of Photography was reported on this forum in 2001. My father, Donald Ross, was an original trustee. After the death of Ansel Adams in 1984, the organization lost the guidance to continue sensibly.

    I'm guessing Minor White drew the hand/lens logo. It's his style.

    friends owned a restaurant he designed, he was ahead of his time! unfortunately the restaurant is closed and probably in disrepair.

    He was friends with my first exes family but I never got to meet him. Still, he was amazing!

    I was heartbroken when the Friends closed, That organization, and the warm welcome they gave me when I moved to the Bay in '97 were a major factor in my comfort level when moving here.
