Paolo Roversi, 8x10, Supermodels in Long Island

A few months ago I found a reference for Paolo Roversi, the Italian fashion and portrait photographer who does a lot of work with 8x10. I had seen a large web gallery of his work that was of nude supermodels outdoors on Long Island beach dunes and whatnot. I know it sounds sleazy but it was really very well done, dare I say it as good or better than Weston or Sturges.

Does anyone have a link? I can't find it... maybe he changed reps or galleries removed it but geez, this was really something fantastic.

I am not refering to his books Liberetto, Nudi, or Studio. His website is "under construction" and his reps' site doesn't show this work (http://www.vincentsimonet.com/pages/page-paolo.html). But I can't believe it isn't still online somewhere...

    Darn Italians...

Sorry, screaming child while typing... she is now sedated and tied up.

It was a commercial gallery's website that had the images, I think. It must have accidently deleted the bookmark.

(Those darn poorly built Flash sites are hard to bookmark because the pages are rarely titled.)

All I get is this: http://www.paoloroversi.com/

I'm sure you found it, but it leads me to think maybe some of those galleries will be up soon on this new site. His management is listed, maybe they have the link you're looking for archived.

Paolo Roversi, 8x10, Supermodels in Long Island

Paolo roversi site(paoloroversi.com) has been out for a long time.
He was born in my hometown,Ravenna, Italy. a few years ago I was walking in the central square in Ravenna, with my speedgraphic/petzval assembly, when I heard a voice trying to get my attention behind me.
I turned and I saw a man with a kid.
I was kind of annoyed by this because I really wanted to go to take some shots, and when I am in that mood that is all I want to do.
This man tells me he hasn't seen a speed graphic in a long time and was kindly asking if I could show it to him.
I did, we chatted a bit ( he uses mainly dagors) and then I said I wanted to go take some shots.
I introduced myself and when it was his turn I understood that I was talking with Paolo Roversi.

I agree Frank, his work is very good, he is a step or two above the usual fashion stuff you see in many magazines.

Paolo Roversi, 8x10, Supermodels in Long Island

Thanks for the links but this still isn't the work I am looking for, which is odd because it is so good and of well known top models.

It is funny how his Deardorf, ACME shutters, and Majestic tripods work their way into some of his photos. I bet he is as much of a gearhead as many of us on this forum.

He also appears to be a "normal" person, not a spacey, creepy oddball like some of the fashion togs.

Do a Google search for his name and when the first page comes up click on "images". I got pages and pages of hits.

Hi, I'm new here - this is the latest book on the publishers site. May be of interest?
