    Zone VI 8x10 Serial # 157 - When made?

    Just curious if there's any data to tell when a Zone VI 8x10 with the serial number of 157 was made? Picking it up tomorrow from the owner in Santa Fe who kept it new in the box since purchase and was never used. Too bad I could never find a Deardorff 8x10 like that............
    Note that this serial numbered camera has no bail back. By the time they reached serial # 190 or so, they had the bail back.

    Your camera is from the first run of 8 x 10 cameras. Around 1988.

    So let me ask, would this camera be a good candidate for one of your installed bails? The later Zone VI 8x10 cameras around # 190 seemed to have a slight modification to the wood to include a bail. Can this be done without modifying the wood? Another consideration is should I even have this camera modified like that? This camera was purchased by the original owner and just sat in the box for the past 34 years - unused. Kind of a neat find.

    Just for fun, the camera still sits in it's original Zone VI shipping box, shown below:
