I have just learned that the author of A World history of Photography and A History of Women Photographers died Feb. 20 at the age of 96. An emminent scholar and wonderful writer who continued working on projects and "reading voraciously" into her final days, she was a wonderful, generous, and loving person. It was my great privilege to get to know her and her husband, photographer Walter Rosenblum (d. 2006), and their talented daughters, and gain much from them both. The obituaries I have seen site their expertise on Lewis Hine and Naomi's curation of a Paul Strand show, without mentioning that Hine had been a mentor to Walter and that they were nearly life-long best friends with Strand, also a mentor to Walter.

Rest in peace, Naomi, and thank you for your life.
