    Pt/Pd workshops

Does anyone know if/where there might be any workshops in Southern California for Platinum/Palladium printing? I've just gotten into it and have quickly learned that I don't want to flounder around on my own trying to learn by trial and error. I've read Dick Arentz's book cover to cover, but I think I would like some hands on experience. So far, the closest I've found is either in the San Francisco Bay area or at the Ansel Adams workshops in Yosemite.

Dan, I can't advise you on classes on the left coast, but this past summer I studied the Na2 method with Tillman Crane. Getting a good foundation with Na2 will save you lots of money and stress. When you get really nice prints the first couple of days with almost any negative it makes Pt/Pd printing a real joy. Look for a Na2 class coming soon to a workshop near you :-)

Per Volquartz runs Pt/Pd classes in LA. Look at his site. I also need a class.

OK, I am from east coast and don't have a clue about who lives where in California, but one of the best Pt./Pd. printers in the country, Kerik Kouklis, lives somewhere in California.

Tilman Crane also does beautiful work but he does not live anywhere around California.

Kerik is an hour east of Sacramento. I went to his workshop a couple of weeks ago and enjoyed it. We also used Na2 to make some prints during the workshop.
