    Panoramic hoods

Does anyone know where I can get a panoramic lens hood for a 58mm Super Angulon XL lens. The Tiffen Wide Angle hood gives vignetting on the edges of the 4x5 fra me. The ring size is 67mm.

You might try the Hasselblad shade for the Superwide/903SWC. It's not exactly th e right thread, Series VIII, but may fit fine since 67mm filters will usually fi t the Superwide ok. If the thread binds don't force it.

Also there's a Mamiya push-on rubber shade for their 45mm 645 lens that might work.

Normally on a view camera you do not use a lens hood attached to the lens. You use an adjustable compendium and they mount to the camera body and have rise/fall/shift to adjust for camera movements and, as they attach to the front standard, tilt and swing when the lens does.

As they are adjustable for length they can not vignette when used properly and some have cropping masks to cut out all extraneous light from reaching the film assuring greater contrast and saturation.
