    Canon 24 mm TS lens

First of all, thanks to Doug,Dave and Steve for the valuable tips. By using this technique, I really don't have to use a TS (tilt and shift) lens to get the proper/desired proportion. Is that correct? Need your input and advice. Thanks, Theo

This technique reduces the horizontal resolution of the image in a non-uniform way. This results in a loss of quality that, in my opinion, is not acceptable if the stretch reaches 1/3 of the image width (which is often the case). Please note that this is a large format photography forum. Techniques to simulate view camera movements in 35mm are only very marginally on topic.
