    Just bought a Nikkor 75mm SW f/4.5

Dirt ass cheap! Like 140 bucks cheap. I should get it next week. Photos of lenw look good, but never know until you put your hands on it. For 140 if it is a bad lens despit pbotosno major loss, but I am confident it is as pictured and in good shape.

If it's a good example you got a screaming deal. I bought mine c.2000 (to shoot kitchens and bathrooms) and used it cost, IIRC, $900. A superb lens.

Fingers crossed. Hopefully it is ready to go or at worst just needs a cleaning.

Received the lens. I would rate it at 98%, only because I can barely see one faint scuff on the rear element which will not affect the image quality at all. Exterior is perfect, all shutter functions work perfectly and it focus's well with a huge image circle on my desk. I scored on this buy. 125 plus 15 for shipping. And no one bid on it at all.

Curious, if anyone knows how to check the Nikkor serial numbers. I looked online, but did not find anything useful.

I got my example for 300 USD in 2010. A very good lens.

I do not know of any serial number information for Nikkor lenses online.

Great lens for an incredible price. Paid $400 1 year ago for an example in mint condition.

Did you get a recessed lens board?

No. My Chamonix doesn't need one. I can get focus at all distances wthout it. The Mamiya 75mm I was using was the same. I am impressed so far except I need to get a 67mm to 72mm ring to use my filters. Very bright lens at f/4.5. All the controls are smooth and shutter sounds good. Will get it tested this month for accuracy.

The Mamiya 75mm I was using
I have never used that lens, but the Nikkor brochure specs look nice.
I also did some work with a medium format 75mm lens on my 4x5, but never got around to getting a 'real' 75mm 4x5 lens. Let us know how it works out.
