    jury slides

I need to get some 35mm slides made for a juried show. I've already got the images as computer files since I print digitally. Anyone have a reliable film recorder shop who can take my digital files and give me 35mm slides? Without breaking the bank? And can handle B&W and not give a color cast?

I'm already looking at slides.com, iprintfromhome.com, and colorslide.com. I'd love to hear about other services, and comments on these services.

This guy is a good friend and does great work. He does my slides also.

I've used slides.com for my jury slides. They seem reasonably priced, the quality is good and the turn around time is great. I haven't used them for black and white, however.

    Paul,

Come to think of it no, but he does allot of b&w for professors at the University of New Mexico, which I have seen used in slide shows and those seemed fine. I have found his product superior to Slides.com
    Thanks,

Kirk-please provide that suggested web site again as I have tried it to no avail-in Colorado.

That is the right address but apparently the web site is down tonight. Funny it was working this afternoon because I uploaded him some images. I left him a message on his home phone that his site is down. I'm sure it'll be back up tomorrow.

Looks like a great service. Cheap compared with some others I've seen.

Unfortunately, even at their low price, a full page of slides costs lots of $$$.
I can't wait until everyone will just accept a 30 cent CD.

Til then I might be using them.

    Kirk,

I'm very favorably impressed with Gamma Tech. I uploaded my files on Monday, and FedEx just handed them off to me on Wednesday, a day early. The slides are beautiful.

What I've done before is to pin a large print (say, 55 x 68.8 cm [21.7 x 27.1 in]) to my proofing wall under the 4700K lights, and use my old 35mm camera on a tripod, mirror up, etc. to make copy slides. They came out fairly well. At least, until you compare them to what Gamma Tech. can do.

The Gamma Tech. slides are much better. Better dynamic range, sharper, smoother tones. And dead solid neutral.

Thanks very much for the tip.

    Bruce,
It doesn't surprize me. The guy is good and a great guy to boot! But thanks for the confirmation.
