Cant really afford nice scans at the moment so I had to resort to photographing the negatives and inverting them

Nice. Really like the first two. Can I ask how you achieved the selective focus? Was this movements?

    Hi Folks,
These were shot at a recent shared studio shoot:

    Dave
    by Ashley Hoff, on Flickr

    Dannielle
    by Ashley Hoff, on Flickr

    Andrew
    by Ashley Hoff, on Flickr

All shot with the same setup:
    Rig: Toyo 45A, Caltar II E 210 F6.8 lens on Foma 200
Lighting: 2 Softboxes in a clamshell configuration

The intent on the day was to try different filters.
Dave was shot with a green filter. The effect wasn't as strong as I was expecting, but I think the lighting configuration flattened out the skin a bit
Dannielle was shot with a red filter.
Andrew was shot with no filter.

As for the studio shoot, a local studio has come up with an interesting concept. Once a month they run a meet, where a group of up to 16 photographers can come in and use the space for either $10 (space only) or $20 (with models, generally amateurs - that was the Belly Dancers that I shot last month). Unfortunately, they don't have any lighting equipment to use, but the whole idea is to bounce ideas off of other like minded photographers (there are enough of us with gear to share). I have to admit that I have really enjoyed myself and really like the concept!

    Cheers and thanks for looking!

Just a terrific! I love the position of her hands. Beautiful young lady and well executed portrait.

Well done. Focus, lighting and pose are all good. Especially the hands.

Well done on all of the portraits. I prefer the rendering in the "Andrew" portrait. Lighting is good in all of them.
