The 1780mm arrived today from San Francisco after much difficult with Fed Ex. Here she is, a real beauty. Thanks again everyone.

Wow, Gerry!
As a telescope guy, I'm curious: what's the diameter of the glass on the front of that thing? Even at f/14, with a focal length that long, it must be huge!
Paul
Thought I would update you all. My 35x35 camera is currently being built. I will receive on my return from Thailand to Canada in about April-May 2018. Here are some photos of the current build state.

Seems to work now. You can also follow some of my current documentary work in Thailand if your interested. I plan to use a 8x10 Deardorff to make pictures of families living and working a garbage dump here soon. Some great folks here, doing very hard work, children and elderly also. I have been photographing here for the last 4 years.

Gerry I am in awe of you , you do what you say and it is obvious your work is very important for the rest of us to see.. I invite you to visit in Toronto any time you wish.. best regards Bob.
Bob thanks for your kind words. Not much to be in "Awe" of, am just telling stories with with camera. We all love photography, we all love to tell stories. Thanks thou for the kind words, they help when it comes to doing the physical work required. Sometimes that gets a bit much at 53, pats on the back help move the old muscles! (am living on the 5th floor with no elevator in Thai). Will be back in Canada in April of 2018. I should receive the completed 35x35 camera sometime after that. Later on (how later not sure) I would love to come to Toronto.
