Lenshood for Schneider super angulon 5.6/65 mm

    Hello,

what kind of lenshood is the best option when using a Schneider super angulon 5,6/65 mm on a 6x9 field camera?
Does any of those no name wide angle rubber hoods with 67 mm diameter do the job accurately?

    Cheers

A 65mm lens on 4x5 is approximately equal to a 21mm on 35mm film. In other words, it is awfully, extremely, incredibly bloomin' wide! My guess is that the rubber hoods will universally choose to vignette on that lens.

The "best" option that you ask for will undoubtedly be a compendium. A compendium is also the most expensive option. Next best, believe it or not, may be the darkslide from your film holder; use it to shade the lens from direct sunlight (or other major off-image light source. The darkslide has the advantage of being the absolute cheapest solution; in fact you'll spend nothing whatsoever to try it out.
