After seeing the recent works of Jack Spencer and his varnished prints, I was hoping to learn more about it the varnishing. Any updates Paul? Any suggestions on a process to start with? I print with UT7 inks on photorag and photorag satin.
Thanks

All of the SPencer prints I have seen have been oilpaint on silver papers, so I dont know what this varnish thing is. Why didnt you ask the gallery owner, he might have been able to explain or ask Spencer.
I did ask the owner and all he knew was that they were digital prints with a varnish applied.
Golden Polymer Varnish will run through a Paasche airbrush quite well without thinning. If you use the largest needle and tip, it will lay down a surface quite quickly. I've been using this combination for years in my restoration business. Remember to flush the airbrush clean with plenty of water, and then use airbrush cleaner. Polymer varnish gunks up airbrushes pretty fast, so you will get very good at dismantly and cleaning it.
