I was suppose to have a shoot last week but the girl had to cancel. We were going to try using my 8.25" JMI Barrel lens with my strobes.

My wife sat in for me and we got two photos. Unfortunately she looks surprised in both of them and would kill me if I posted them. We set up the shot, turned out all the lights, counted to 3 and triggered the strobe by hand. It worked great

After we switched to my lens in shutter and tried out the wireless flash trigger with it. That worked great too. Not my best photo but I am happy that it worked like it should

Got to be happy you have such a pretty model as a wife! I like it and I'm sure she does too.

I'm guessing he's relying on a flash/strobe to provide all of the useful light in the scene.

Yup - in studio with my trusty Calumet/Bowens strobes

with big brass lenses w/o a shutter - I use a hat - remove hat/hit flash button/replace hat

I like the allusion to movement. Something I try to do with LF but fail. I do get movement with a dang DSLR.

I was doing a digital medium format studio portrait session, but also sneaked one 4x5 sheet - Ilford, but cannot remember if Delta 100 or FP4 125. Stand development in Rodinal 1+100' 1 hour. Plaubel Peco Junior plus Fujinon 250/6.7SW @f11.
