A map of Sweden for reference

    https://www.google.dk/search?q=map+o...TpLnEY1bamM%3A

Ystad is a small coastal town, there where the "r" is in Trelleborg in the deep south.

Linkøping is 2/3rds of the way up towards Stockholm. Very different landscapes. Ystad used to be part of greater Denmark, whilst Sweden was a smaller country centered around Stockholm! Ystad has good farmland. These days there are enormous fields, the hedgerows have gone, like a great many of the population who left for Ellis Island to escape rural poverty. But bleakness has a certain charm.

    Thanks for the reference.

So just a nice road trip between the towns. The bleakness of Ystad along with the ocean does have it's own charm for me. Of course I wouldn't mind seeing the rest of Sweden too. Denmark would also be interesting!

Thank you everyone for the greetings!

I've heard that Wallander's Ystad has a mortality rate close to that of the village Midsomer, famous from the TV series Midsomer Murders.

Scania (Skåne) is only a few hours south of here, while the northern parts of Sweden is a bit longer. I recently went to Kiruna (north of the Polar Circle) to climb Kebnekaise, that was 1432 km by car (we flew) from Linköping.

Wallander was an excellent series. I was saddened to hear that the female lead actress passed away, though.
