lens that will fit inside closed horseman 45hd

sorry for the double post. didn't think this warrants a new thread.

so i'm over the camera not closing.. not that big of a deal. am still curious why mine does not fit though. anyways, i really only plan on shooting with a shutter speed for 60 and higher and so do I really need a cable release? and if so does anybody know of an adapter that would allow me to use the one I already have?

Looks like you will have to remove your cable release to close the camera..
You could try re-orienting the lens on the lens board so that the cable release screwed in at 9o'clock rather than the 11 o'clock position and see if that helps.

also the lensboard will not even attach onto the camera unless it is situated at the top. again this is making me wonder if there is an adapter that would allow me to use a cable release, if a different cable release would work better, or if i even really need a cable release to begin with.

Well, I am out of ideas - sorry I can't think of anything else.
I know that mine won't close if I have a filter screwed on the front of the lens.
Perhaps we have different Fujinons and they are dimensioned differently

I've just had another thought.
I have the Fujinon W 5.6/150.
I think that perhaps you have the Fujinon NW 5.6/150.
If this is the case then your front elements are bigger than mine and you have a larger filter ring as a result.
You may have a 55mm or 52mm filter thread whereas mine is 40.5mm
This could be the problem as the wider lens will foul the front bed as it closes.

You can loosen the lens from the board then rotate it just a bit counter clockwise then it will fit. My 210 on my HD has to be in a specific position too in order to get the cable on. The downside of having the tiny lens board.

That lens looks rather big to fit in the HD folded. My Fuji CMW won't fit either. You can try turning the lens around with the front element to the ground glass as that will buy you a little more space.

i'll put it this way: i am in no position to buy another lens. as i said before the lens fitting isn't a huge deal to me and really just have to work around it if possible. that being said is a cable release really necessary if exposures will be taken at shutter speeds above 1/60? and again if so which adapter would be small enough to fit. i do not have the tools necessary to rotate the lens on the board.
